NaturGeschichten
Exhibition NaturGeschichten
The exhibition NaturGeschichten takes visitors on a voyage of discovery through the valley landscape of the Thaya. A huge aerial view invites you to experience the valley in all its splendour and explore it down to the smallest detail. From the viewpoint of the black stork, you overlook the area of the cross-border Thayatal-Podyjí National Park. Who will discover the castle in Hardegg or the Thaya bridge? What traces has the Iron Curtain left behind? How can you tell the difference between a national park forest and modern forestry? Using tablets, visitors virtually immerse themselves in the landscape and discover the natural and cultural features of the valley on the border.
Short film "Insights into the Thaya Valley"
In addition to the exhibition, we show the nature documentary "Insights into the Thayatal” every half hour in the cinema. It presents beautiful images of the Thaya Valley and introduces the people who look after this protected area.
River and town stories
On the way back, visitors encounter stories about the Thayatal and its surroundings. The stories tell of a legendary black woman, mother-of-pearl and woolly rhinos, and the beginnings of the Thayatal-Podyjí National parks.
